SAFVIC is proud to announce they have been awarded a grant from the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor’s Office to host another SAFVIC-Statewide Conference on Violence Against Women at the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio, Texas July 23-25, 2012. This conference will provide FREE training and lodging for 200 law enforcement officers and telecommunicators/911 dispatchers across the state of Texas. Rural Texas areas will receive first priority to attend the conference. Counties and cities who have had a fatality due to domestic violence will be considered on a case by case basis. The SAFVIC- Statewide Law Enforcement Training on Violence Against Women Program goal for this year's conference will focus on giving law enforcement and telecommunicators the necessary tools aid in the investigation and successful prosecution against perpetrators of violence against women. The conference will not only cover the basic dynamics of violent crimes against women but will provide in-depth training on special topics such as human trafficking investigation techniques, cyber-crime investigations, interviewing and interrogating sexual offenders, and much more!
All applicants will be required to submit an application and will be notified by email or phone once he or she is selected to attend the conference. Registration/applications are currently being accepted.
